Force Unleashed Not Coming to PC

Update: The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition has been announced for PC and Mac as well as Xbox 360 and PS3 to be released this holiday season. Read more here.

TheForce.net recently spoke to a LucasArts representative who spoke about the much wished-for PC version of The Force Unleashed. They did not respond very positively.

“It definitely will not be coming to PC.”

Many fans will probably be very disgruntled over this. The question was asked because HMV.co.uk had listed a PC version of the game on their site.

Can you tell us about your character?

WITWER: I can’t tell you the specifics, but I can tell you that Darth Vader discovers someone who is extremely strong in the Force, someone whose raw potential rivals the Emperor, rivals Yoda….This guy’s a sort of photo negative of Luke Skywalker.

Force Unleashed CES 2008 Preview

Force Unleashed will be demoed at CES in 08 and we should expect to see some new stuff. The game is mentioned in Yahoo’s preview of CES 2008.

Its worth noting he gives a release date of April which is more specific than we’ve heard before. Wonder if thats true?


Force Unleashed on N-Gage

THQ Wireless, Lucasfilm, and LucasArts announced today that Force Unleashed will be released on Nokia’s mobile gaming platform during 2008. This version of the game is being developed by THQ’s Finland-based studio, Universomo. The game will use Cell Weaver TM technology to let you harness the Force as Vader’s secret apprentice.

“We’re proud to be able to deliver the next chapter in the Star Wars saga on the N-Gage platform,” said Gregg Sauter, Director of Publishing for Nokia. “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Mobile game will take advantage of the N-Gage platform’s robust native development environment to provide the ultimate mobile gaming experience, including powerful graphics, connectivity and community elements.”

“THQ Wireless is dedicated to creating an awesome mobile Star Wars experience that delivers on the concept of unleashing the Force. Force Unleashed Novel Details

Fans will be able to experience The Force Unleashed weeks before the game is released in the official novel coming from Titan. The Force Unleashed by Sean Williams is set to be released on 21 March which is several weeks before the game will be released. Titan also will release the official graphic novel by project lead Haden Blackman.

Look at Unofficial Wii Lightsaber

Wii Lightsaber PeripheralPeripheral manufacturer 4gamers has announced that on December 1 their Wii lightsaber peripheral will be released. It will cost £19.99 or about $29.

The saber uses 22 bring LED lights which can light up in either a blue or green beam. You simply slip the Wii remote into the sword’s handle and press an on button in similar fashion to a lightsaber. The item can be used in games such as LEGO Star Wars or Force Unleashed.


Force Unleashed Sneak Preview

I thought this was an interesting blog post I found. Apparently David Ewalt from Digital Download got to attend a sneak preview of Force Unleashed where they detailed the plot and showed off game play footage. He didn’t (read: couldn’t) give us any details but I wonder how he got access to this under-the-radar event.


Force Unleashed Co-Star Evolution

On StarWars.com Haden Blackman, the project lead for Force Unleashed, has written an entry entitled “Co-Star Evolution”. It discusses how the NPC characters in the game came to be and where they got to where they are during the game. The article features Rahm Kota, Maris Brood, and Juno Eclipse. LucasArts and BioWare Announce Partnership

In a press release today, LucasArts and BioWare announced that they are working together to create a ground-breaking interactive product. No details have been given on this yet, but you may follow their progress at LucasArtsBioWare.com. Here is the press release:

Unfortunately no information was given on the game but this further fuels the rumors about a potential KotOR MMO. It is likely that the game is based on Star Wars at least. Who knows, maybe it is a traditional RPG of KotOR 3? The only thing we know is that both BioWare and LucasArts will publish the title. BioWare has members from KOTOR, Ultima Online, and Star Wars: Galaxies development teams working on their MMO, which is supposed to be released in 2009.
