System Requirements Unleashed for Ultimate Sith Edition PC

Aspyr, who is both developing and publishing the PC version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition, has posted the minimum and recommended system requirements at their website. Behold:

  • Operating System: Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2. Windows 7
  • CPU Processor: 2.4 GHz Dual Core Processor (Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2)
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Hard Disk Space: 23.8 GB + 1 GB Swap File
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
  • Video Card: 3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required – 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 256 MB Video Memory with Shader 3.0 support
  • Video Card (ATI): Radeon HD 2900
  • Video Card (Nvidia): Geforce 8800

If you went o_O, you’re not the only one. Now do you believe LucasArts when they said the requirements would have been too high to make a PC version a year ago?

That isn’t very high specs for a game and could have easily been made a year ago.
My PC is way better than those specs and i have had it for longer than a year now.

Except it will lag like hell on those spec. Don’t bother, it’s a horrible game anyway.

The 8800 series release date was in 2006 and was 3rd gen technology in 2008. So yes, I am still pissed that they claimed such nonsense.

Given the fact that this game was released for a system as a Sony PS2, which is a low-spec gaming platform, i dont see a valid reason why they released in such a way that a high-end PC is needed for playing it. I guess i will wait for the SW:Jedi Academy TFU mod :S

I guess they only made these high specs to provoke “now you believe?” reaction. They probably hired REALLY lame programmers to do the PC port, asking them to make everything as unoptimized as possible :)
