No Multiplayer on Xbox 360/PS3

Posted by Jeff on May 17th, 2008

The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of The Force Unleashed will not get the same multiplayer treatment as the Wii version as it has been revealed there is no multiplayer mode in either of those two versions. LucasArts’ official statement:

“To be specific, there’s no multiplayer in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, because there is on the Wii, PSP, and DS. As far as specific reasons are concerned, we don’t really like to get into the reasons why we don’t do things because I don’t think there’s really a satisfactory answer that people would really be happy with. So, there isn’t multiplayer and that’s kind of how it is…”

I suppose they did this so each version of the game remains even as far as equal amount of gameplay and features but it still will upset a lot of people.

There is a typo in ur paragraph. The first few words. There will be no multiplayer on Xbox or Wii. Instead of PS3 u put Wii. Just pointing it out though, i go to this site as often as i can. Great job on it!

Thanks for the heads up FUFan

This is new makes me a little angry. With very well suited multilayer platforms like PS3 and 360, it makes little to no sense to not include them with this mode. going with this balance between consoles idea to justify the removal of such a prominent feature is really upsetting because of fun it looks.

I think it ok that there is no multiplayer for the ps3 and 360 I mean they both get DMM and Euphoria and the others don’t so the removal of multiplayer mode from these platforms is just to make it fair so that the other versions don’t miss out

I have heard that the reason there is no multiplayer on xbox or ps3 is that most of the game info is taken up with the graphics needed to produce a 1080p image .
where as the Wii is all about game play and not so much on the graphics the game was perfectly fitted around the Wii style of motion game play to be the ultamate version.
I have also heard that there is 5 extra levals on the Wii that dont apear on the other consoles.

    @ Martin:

If that were the case, no Xbox 360/PS3 games would have multiplayer. This is a weak excuse for not incorporating multiplayer.

I need a clarification on the article: When Lucasarts says “there’s no multiplayer in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, because there is on the Wii, PSP, and DS” does this just clarify that some platforms will have multiplayer, or does this mean that the presence of multiplayer in other platforms is a reason for not including it in the premier console versions? In which case, it would be for ‘balance’ or ‘fairness’, which is a load of crap. I had to shell out a lot more for my Xbox 360 than someone who owns a Wii, PS2, PSP, or DS did, and the games themselves are more expensive, so why shouldn’t I get more content for buying the same title?

I don’t see why they aren’t making Mutiplayer or Online for FU. Personally I think it would better for the game since most people have xbox 360. They can do what they did for Jedi academy. The mutiplayer in that one was soooo fun.

  9. Austin Says:

this bit of info makes me mad. the trailer of the multiplayer looked really cool for the wii. they should have multiplayer for xbox360.

  10. Scott Says:

They’re saying they want everyone on equal playing ground, because Wii, etc miss out on dmm and euphoria, and therefore, 360 and PS3 miss out on multiplayer. Well I say just give us the damn multplayer, its the stupid wii owners fault they ain’t getting dmm so why should we suffer?
