Today LucasArts announced that the next game in the Battlefront series will be exclusive to the PSP. This was an unexpected move as many had anticipated this game to be on next-gen consoles. The two previous Battlefront games have collectively sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.
Currently the new game will be known as “Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron,” and it will feature a new storyline and never-before-seen multiplayer action on the PSP. Making an appearance in the game is Han Solo as we learn how he recruited troops for many missions before we met him in Episode IV. Other notable characters in the game will include Admiral Ackbar, IG-88, Ben Kenobi, Asajj Ventress, and Kit Fisto, among others.
New PSP features to the game include the ability to board capital ships, an online leaderboard, improved space combat, improved Galactic Conquest mode, and a new game mode, “Hero Capture the Flag.”
