In a recent article on the Wii’s mainstream success posted on Fin24, a very interesting bit is found.
The head of the LucasArts, the game division for “Star Wars” series creator George Lucas, told AFP a Wii game that lets players wield virtual light sabers is on the horizon.
This is a game that I have been anticipating for a long time to hear about and now here is finally some confirmation. While it is not a lot, its something and it would be a dream come true for Star Wars gamers.

Nice, Ever since the first few details of the Wii’s remote came out, I’ve been hoping a game like this would come out. Just the Words “wield virtual light sabers” sends chills down my spine.
Yay! This is the game I’ve been waiting for.
When I first saw a Wiimote in real life (Kuefler brought one into school the day after it came out and showed it during lunch….just the remote at first, not the whole thing.) I picked it up and thought immediately that a lightsaber game would be sweet. It’s the absolute perfect interface for that kind of game.
In fact, within minutes I found a little app online that interfaced with the Wiimote’s accelerometer via Bluetooth and made lightsaber sounds with the motion. A little taste of what’s to come.
If they do it right, this could be one hell of a game.
This is exactly what I expected to find out after reading the title tsaber Game for Wii on the Horizon – The Force Unleashed by ForceUnleashed.net. Thanks for informative article
