New Force Unleashed Video

A new video for The Force Unleashed has been posted at Yahoo Games. It features previously unseen footage of Jim Ward, Peter Hirschmann, and Haden Blackman on how the concept of The Force Unleashed came about among other things.

The Force Unleashed at Celebration IV

The Star Wars saga will continue this May at Celebration IV with the biggest Star Wars gaming event to date. This is your chance to get the inside scoop on the Force Unleashed.

From LucasArts’ production studios, Haden Blackman, Matt Omernick and Brett Rector will be at Celebration IV to discuss how The Force Unleashed will show you ways of using the Force you never dreamed of. Also to be present are two of the games’ voice actors, Nathalie Cox (Juno Eclipse) and Sam Witwer (Secret Apprentice), who will speak about their roles for the first time.

The Art of VFX

Visual effects (VFX) will play a large role in The Force Unleashed. All Star Wars games have a certain standard to live up to in terms of visuals. With the next-gen consoles, Force Unleashed will be able to deliver stunning visual effects like no other.

Production Diary – Effecting the Force

Brett has written the seventh entry in his series of production diaries for The Force Unleashed. He focuses on one area of games that is very important but often overlooked: the effects. From the then-stunning effects of Episode IV in 1977 to the groundbreaking visuals of Episode III in 2005, Lucas and effects go hand in hand. So expect the effects of The Force Unleahsed to be of the same caliber.

New Production Diary

Last week Brett went over what it took to get Force Unleashed through its initial phase. Once the concept, pre-viz, and solid outline for the story were complete, the next phase in development is to figure out how to bring Force Unleashed to visual life. Since the game was for next-gen consoles, it made the job more difficult than if it were for PS2 or Xbox.
